Pay By Cheque, Not Cash: Labour Dept

After receiving a number of complaints regarding underpayment from employees, the Labour Department has said that all wages will be released to labourers only through crossed cheques or ECS. Delhi Labour, Industries and Law and Justice Minister Ramakant Goswami said the Labour Department is committed to implement the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, so that the interests of labours could be fully safeguarded. The order will be applicable to all shops and establishments, industrial units, hospitals, education institutions, government and semi-government organisations operating in Delhi.
